In September of 1980 Charles Malik addressed the crowd gathered for the dedication of the Billy Graham center in Wheaten, Illinois with these words, “I must be frank with you: the greatest danger facing American evangelical Christianity is the danger of anti-intellectualism.” It is a widely held belief that Christianity is not an intellectual option. In the strata of higher learning this view is becoming increasingly more dominant. Yet, Christianity has a long history of intellectualism. In fact, there have been, and are now, many exceptional minds who defend Christianity. Unfortunately the reputation the church now holds of not being intellectual isn’t completely undeserved. Many, even within the church itself, have struggled earnestly with difficult questions about their faith. Those outside the church have had these questions answered by an increasingly secularized society.
Tabletalks is a ministry with the intention of meeting such questions head on.
